Peter K. Mohanty
Passed away on Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of Gloria M. Mohanty, father of deceased children Michael and Michelene; companion of Pekingese pet-dogs, Tai Pan and Gypsy, and son of the late Golak and Urmila Mohanty, brother of five siblings and families, and son-in-law of the late Timothy and Elvina D’Sousa, of Calcutta, Indria, and brother-in-law of four siblings and families, uncle to several nephews and nieces and grand-nephews and nieces.
Peter was a long-time parishioner of All Saints Church in Etobicoke, since the beginning and lived in Etobicoke for many many years. Peter was Past District Deputy, Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. Peter was also Commander and member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Peter was in the private sector and the Federal Government for many years in senior positions before taking his early retirement Peter was a Minister and pastoral assistand and very active member of his Parish Church at All Saints and served in many programs and initiatives.
Peter was the Founding Director of the New Region of the Rosary Apostolate in the Schools program. Peter loved dogs and all animals and was President of the Pekingese Dog Club for many years. He was an avid golfer, reaching professional levels, had a passion for and was an accomplished Air Force Pilot and commercial and private flying. He enjoyed classical music, loved nature, gourmet cooking, fine wine collections and international travel.
Friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Royal York Road, Etobicoke.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either Shepherd’s Trust Catholic Charity, Toronto Share Life Missionaries of Charity, or Sisters of the Divine Master, Toronto would be appreciated by the family.
