Obituary

Panagiota Kokkinia, aged 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving so freely. Her departure was gentle, serene, and marked by the same quiet grace that defined her long and beautiful life. Even in her final moments, she carried the warmth and calm that made others feel at home in her presence.

Born August 25, 1928, Panagiota devoted herself to her family with unwavering dedication. She was a loving wife for more than six decades (married in 1961) to her husband, Dimitri, who passed away four years ago. A mother whose guidance shaped generations, and a grandmother whose stories, laughter, and gentle wisdom became treasured memories. Her home was always a place of comfort, where every visitor felt welcomed and every milestone was celebrated with joy.

Panagiota’s life was rich with simple pleasures: always tending to her kids, baking for family gatherings, and sharing long conversations. She had a remarkable ability to find beauty in everyday moments and taught those around her to slow down and appreciate the world with the same tenderness she carried in her heart.

She leaves behind a family who adored her and a legacy woven from kindness, resilience, and love. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her spirit remains in the traditions she created, the lessons she passed down, and the countless lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing her passing was peaceful, and that she is now reunited with her husband Dimitri and all the ones who went before her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she shaped and the love she gave so generously.

Survived by her children John (Ioannis), Bill (Vasilios), Tom (Athanasios), Steve (Stavros), Gus (Konstantinos), grandchildren Samantha, Alexander, Joshua, Jialin, Annastasia, Lecia, Sophia and great-grandchildren Cline, Penelope.
