Died peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital on Thursday, January 10, 2013.
She will be sadly missed by Ian Allison, father of her two children. She was a loving mother to Ianthe Allison and grand-mother to Mercedes, Katrinna, Savannah and Shadrach. Another daughter, Yolande Allison, preceeded Ovetta. She also precedes siblings, Edelmera Harrison, Getseta Thompson, Seymour (Chappo) O'Meally and Gloria Nelson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family members. In Jamaica, Ovetta worked as Postmistress at both the Hayes and Alley post offices. She migrated to Canada in 1971 and worked at Bell Canada for 26 years until her retirement. Ovetta will be remembered for her gentle demeanour and kind personality. She was generous of spirit and never hesitated to help others.
Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” on Friday January 18th from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Ward Chapel on Saturday January 19th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. Please visit Ovetta’s book of memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com
