Olive Smikle

SMIKLE, Olive Marjorie (Goode)
August 20, 1933 to April 11, 2018

Passed away quietly in her sleep early Wednesday morning. Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Homer, in 2001. Olive leaves behind her four children: Christopher, Michelle (Chris), David (Cynthia, d. 1997), Melanie (Ryan); five grandsons: Jeremy, Tyler, Harrison (Ciara), Zachary, McKenzie; and three great-grandchildren: Christopher, Madeleine, and Hendrix. Battling dementia over the past several years, Olive eventually moved into Peel Manor Long-term Care in Brampton, in November 2015. There she received the love, care and kindness of an extraordinary staff of amazing people, to whom we the family are extremely grateful. Olive now sleeps safely in the memory of her God, Jehovah, awaiting the resurrection He promises. As were Olive's final wishes, she has been cremated, and a private family remembrance will be held in her honour.
