Nettie Veenstra – Hieminga

Died suddenly on December 15, 2010 at age 89. She will be sadly missed by family members and friends, especially by her husband of 59 years, Jakob Veenstra; her children Betty and Al Martens, Claire Veenstra and Don Johnston, John and Edith Veenstra; her grandchildren Alison and Ryan Webb, Kevin and Rachel Martens, Robert Martens, Emily and Gabrielle Veenstra; and her great granddaughter Tessa Martens. She will be fondly remembered for her care and compassion, her practical wisdom, her love of music and sewing, and her sense of humour. We sincerely thank the staff on the first floor of Grace Manor for their special care and support for Mom. If you wish, donations in her memory to the Alzheimer Society (Peel or Richmond Hill branch) will be appreciated.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.
A Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving for Nettie’s life will be held on Monday, December 20 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Hall, Holland Christian Homes, 7900 Mclaughlin Rd., Brampton.
