French, Nancy Evelyn
August 10, 1933 – October 12, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy French on October 12, 2023 at the age of 90, in Toronto, ON. Nancy is predeceased by her first husband, George Hiscock (de. 2001), her second husband, Kenneth French (de. 2009), and her eldest daughter, Nancy-Lou Eardley (de. 2021).
She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Linda Eastwood, and Susan Apostolov (Robbie). Cherished Nana to Shaun, Andrew, Matthew, Daniel (Jennesa), Michelle (Branden), Paul, Lisa and Matthew. Great Nana to seven and Great-Great Nana to one. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and all her wonderful friends and family in Toronto and Nova Scotia.

Nancy met her first husband George while working at Moffatt’s and after a few years they were married and had three daughters; Nancy-Lou, Linda and Susan. She also worked as a teller with the CIBC and many years as a switchboard operator, she also worked as a front desk receptionist at Alpine Graphics.
For over 50 years she has been a member of Greenborough Community Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the bells.

Nancy was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed her weekly visits at the York West Centre where she would meet with many of her cherished friends for an eagerly anticipated game of cards; not to mention, she would also require a game or two when visiting family.

Every summer she would vacationing at the family home in Nova Scotia, enjoying the weather and the wonderful hospitality of her east coast relatives. She found love once again when she met Ken French in 2004. They spent the next five years together traveling and enjoying each others company. Sadly, Ken passed away in 2009. Since then, she has found enjoyment being active in the community and church and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home (2035 Weston Rd, Toronto) on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm p.m. and from 6pm – 8 p.m. Nancy’s memorial service will be held the following day in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery (1810 Albion Rd, Etobicoke), where she will once again join her beloved husband, George Hiscock.
