It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Myrsini “Mary” Papadakis on November 02, 2026, in Toronto Ontario at age 88.
Myrsini was born in Mina Laconia Greece in 1937.
Shortly after birth, her family relocated to Nikaia Piraeus where she matured into a fashionable and highly skilled seamstress.
At the age of 27, Myrsini immigrated to Canada to reunite with her fiancé Demetre. They married shortly thereafter at Panagia Greek Orthodox Cathedral and began a devoted life together that would span 61 years. During those years, Myrsini became a proud and loving mother to Nicholaos (Wendy) and Christina. Her ultimate joy was her granddaughter, Elisha, whom she showered with endless affection and chocolate. Her devotion to her family was only matched by her profound Greek Orthodox faith.
Myrsini was outgoing and respectful to everyone she met. True to her vocation, she was always impeccably dressed and never shy about offering advice about her family’s wardrobe choices. She loved to sing and shared her rich alto voice without hesitation. Her generous nature will always be remembered by those who were invited to share her meals, her time and her unwavering belief in a better future.
Myrsini will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
