At Ian Anderson House in Oakville on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, aged 92. Predeceased in September, 2006 by his adored wife of nearly 61 years Jean Frances Harvie (née Patrick). Much-loved father of Margo Harvie (Richard Fine) of Mississauga and Drew Harvie (Electa Aust) of Toronto. Sadly missed by grandsons Ted and Dan Fine. Son of Margaret and Thomas W. Harvie, brother of Jean Harvie and Thomas A. Harvie, all deceased.
Born and raised in Montreal, Murd returned from overseas wartime service as an RCAF bomber pilot to marry Frances in December, 1945. Real estate finance work with the Prudential Insurance Company of America moved the family from Montreal to Oakville, to Wayland, MA., and finally back to Oakville.
Family and friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, 905-844-3221, on Thursday, March 21st from 7 – 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Ward Chapel on Friday, March 22nd at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ian Anderson House or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
