Monica Edwards

Monica Edwards (nee Gelinas), 101, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Sunday, January 7, 2024. 

Born in Montreal, QC in 1922, where she and her beloved husband, Jim (1921 -1975) started their family. She later moved to Brampton, ON where they chose to deepen their family's roots, and even experienced living abroad for a year in Istanbul, Turkey.

She is the devoted and cherished mother of Shelley Ernst (Robert), Lynn Soulliere (William), and Todd Edwards.

She was a wonderfully loving and doting grandmother to her grandchildren; Spencer Soulliere, Sarah Berube (Curtis), Ailee Martynowski (Frank), and James Ernst (Angela).  

She is affectionately remembered by great-grandchildren; Austin, Zane, Izabella, Briana, Adison and Richard. 

Monica dedicated herself to a fulfilling profession as a well-respected medical secretary, enjoying a lengthy career that began in Montreal and came to a close with a celebrated retirement in Brampton. 

She truly led a full and incredible life. She had an especially exceptional spark that she shared all over the world, as she relished her travel experiences across the globe. Monica dedicated herself to countless hours creating treasured memories with her many dear friends and family members.
