Minnie Polowyk

POLOWYK, Mary (Minnie). We celebrate the life of our dear mother, Baba and Great-Baba who passed away in Humber Hospital, Toronto , on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in her 82nd year. Minnie was the beloved wife of the late Eli Alex and is lovingly remembered by her children, Pat Hurley (Ken), Marianne Gibson (Tom), Mike (Debbie), and Chris (Marie). She was Baba extraordinaire to her 12 grandchildren: Kelly (Erik), Matthew, Rob, Daryl, Derek (Carly), Michelle, Lauren, Kyle, Julianne, Ryan, Heather and Kari, and Great-Baba to Liam and Charlotte. Minnie is survived by her brother William Wilkie of Thunder Bay and predeceased by her brothers, Maurice and Joe and sisters Helen and Olga. She was born in Fort William, Ontario, in 1931 to parents John Welyki and Anne (Mozel) Welyki and came to Toronto in 1950 after her marriage. Minnie worked for State Farm Insurance for 20 years. A brighter light now shines in heaven. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, (north of Lawrence Ave. W) Weston on Monday, October 8th, from 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9pm. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9th at 11:30am in the Ward Chapel with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
