It is with heavy heart we sadly announce the peaceful passing of our dad, at EGH, with family by his side.
Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife Nettie and will be forever missed by his children Danny, Carl (Yvonne Pillard), Laurie (Gary Christianson), Ron (Isobella) and Michael (Karen). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Michael, Brandon, Dylan, and the late Stephanie. He is also survived by two sisters Jean and Paula and predeceased by seven other siblings and he will be most sadly missed by his faithful companion Bear.
Mike was a gentle loving person with a very big heart and was extremely kind and generous to others. During our childhood dad often invited less fortunate friends and family to stay with us to regroup when they needed a warm bed or roof over their head. He will be remembered very fondly by all family and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and especially the nursing staff of EGH for their wonderful care and compassion.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Wednesday from 2-4pm & 6-9pm. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, November 13th, 2014 at 11:30am. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association, would be appreciated by the family.
