MAZZUCA, Michele - On Friday, August 24, 2012 at 6:15 p.m., the Mazzuca family suffered a great loss. Michele Mazzuca, the family patriarch, passed away, surrounded by his loving family. Michele was born in Rende, Calabria, Italy in 1924. He came to Toronto in 1952 to forge a better life for his whole family: his sisters Carmela, Marietta and Adelina and his brothers Salvatore, Francesco, Mario, Antonio, Agostino and the dearly departed Giovanni. Michele was gentle, patient and wise. He was a loving and devoted husband of nearly 60 years to Marcella and father to Wilma. He was a second father to his grandson Frank, a loving grandfather-in-law to Kathleen and a playful great- grandfather to Thomas. His life and the way he carried himself and treated people will stand as a shining example to always seek out the best in ourselves. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Monday from 2-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, 150 St. Francis Ave., Woodbridge, Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
