Michael Peter O'Hanlon

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Peter O'Hanlon on August 5, 2026 at the age of 76.

Born on May 28, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, Michael lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering love for his family, and a genuine passion for learning. He believed in showing up for those he loved, giving his best in everything he did, and finding purpose in a life built on kindness, perseverance, and integrity.

A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sandra, their 54-year love story was the foundation of their family, and anyone who knew them could see the immense love, respect, and partnership they shared throughout their lives.

A proud and loving father and grandfather, nothing meant more to Michael than his family. He cherished every opportunity to be together, whether it was sharing a meal, celebrating life's milestones, or simply enjoying each other's company. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and there was nothing he loved more than watching them grow and creating memories with them. They will forever remember a grandfather who made each of them feel deeply loved and uniquely special.

Michael enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the medical illustration and publishing industry and he was deeply passionate about his role helping to educate generations of students and professionals. He approached his work with curiosity, creativity, and pride, always appreciating the opportunity to contribute to something larger than himself.

Michael's interests were as varied as they were enduring. He had a lifelong love of history and books, an enthusiasm for computers and technology, and found great satisfaction in the simple pleasures in life, like a well-earned glass of Irish whiskey at the end of the day.

One of Michael's greatest gifts was the way he made people feel. He had a remarkable ability to make every person feel seen, valued, and important. His generosity, quiet kindness, and sincere interest in others left an impression that will never be forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Tess and his sister Paddy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra; his children, Sean (Jennifer), Maureen (Chaney), and Caitlin (Jonathan); his cherished grandchildren, Kyra, Ty, Mikaela, Mason, Graeme, Quinn, Emma, Cole, and Rowen; his siblings Kathy (Dave), Tim (Alanna), Tom, and KC (Carole); and many extended family members, dear friends, and former colleagues who will miss him deeply.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Michael's love continues to live on through his family, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched with his warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.

His was a life well lived, a life well loved, and a life that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St S, Brampton, ON L6W 2C5 on Sunday August 16, 2026 from 12-3pm for a celebration of Michael’s life.
