Michael passed away peacefully at home at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Alice Jane Muirhead (January 2005). Loving father of Mary-Anne Lee (Geoffrey) and Michael. Cherished grandfather of Veronica and Edward. Dear son of the late John O’Connell and Margaret Moloney (Abbeyfeale Co Limerick, Ireland). Dear brother of John, Mary Campagna, Bridget Schedler, Margaret Perkins, all of Illinois, Cornelius of Innisfil, Cathleen Maloney of Mississauga, Anastasia O’Brien of County Cork and Nora- Mai Harnett, of County Limerick. Predeceased by brothers Garratt (Frank), Timothy and Christopher. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Michael was a faithful parishioner and usher of St. Philip Neri Church for 59 years. Michael was a proud Irishmen who enjoyed marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The family would like to thank Didi C. Amichand for her dedicated loving care for the past seven years. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Tuesday April 30th from 6-9 pm and Wednesday May 1st from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church (2100 Jane St. Toronto) on Thurs May 2nd at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
