Michael Albino Manna, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025. Michael was born on March 1, 1933 in Toronto to Marianina and Michel, growing up with his 9 brothers and sisters; Mary, Susie, Josie, Pat, Tony, John, Carl, Carmela and Angie. Michael was reunited in passing with his beloved wife, Dorothy. Loving father to Michelle (Bill) McClure and Paul Manna. Proud Papa to Michael and Ryan (Sara) McClure. Devoted Great Grandfather to Hannah and Benjamin McClure.
Michael was truly one of a kind – a sweet-natured soul who showed love and respect to everyone he met, and absolutely adored children. He found joy in life’s simplest pleasures: fishing, tennis, horses, reading true crime, and above all, spending time with his family. Michael was a humble, hardworking man who always provided for those he loved. A patient man of few words, he lived contentedly and appreciated life’s simple moments.
Growing up on Palmerston in Toronto, Michael spent his childhood playing with neighbourhood friends, getting into mischief with his brothers, and working alongside his father in the family fruit business, run by horse and buggy – where his lifelong love of horses began. In the early 1950s, a chance request to help move furniture led him to meet Dorothy, and it was love at first sight, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership.
A devoted provider, Michael built a successful working life in sales with Darrigo’s and as a horse trainer.
Michael was a loving, devoted father to Michelle and Paul, always making time to play with them, and often with every child in the neighbourhood as well.
In his retirement, time spent with his grandsons was his priority and pride and joy, and he passed that same love and devotion on to his great-grandchildren. Papa was beloved by all who met him and will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton. A Luncheon will follow the funeral service, location and details will be announced following the Funeral.
