Lifetime Member, attaining 3rd Degree with Knights of Columbus - Humber Valley Council 3945. 36 years as a Deacon with Catholic Archdioceses of Toronto.
Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday January 31, 2013 at Erin Mills Long Term Care at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Edna Gaynor (2005). Loving father to Tina and her husband Raf, Robin and his wife Anna, and Maxine and her husband Kevin. Cherished grandpa to Chris and his wife Rosie, Mellissa and her husband Russell, Adrian, Jason, and Michael. Great-grandpa to Titzianna, Preya, and Taylor. Remembered by his sister Rita Nair. Merv will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. St. John The Evangelist Church, 49 George Street Weston on Monday February 4, 2013 at 11am. Cremation to follow.
