In loving memory of Mary McDonald Todd (nee Leanaghan)
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Mary, who passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Credit Valley Hospital at the age of 99.
Mary was born on June 10, 1927 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She married Peter Marshall Todd in 1946. They came to Canada with their three children in 1965 and settled in Brampton, Ontario.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Peter, by her son, Brian, in 2011 and her granddaughter, Jennifer in 1988. She leaves behind Andrew (Gerri) and Therese (Oliver), her grandchildren, Marc (Sylvia), Ryan (Julie), Evan (Melanie), Cory, Allison (Oliver), Natalie (Rory) and Ari, and her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ajax, Ethan, Abigail, Cameron, Eliot, Findley and Andrew.
Mary lived at Grace Court Apartments on her own for more than 20 years. Thank you to all the staff, the VON PSW’s and Brampton Meals on Wheels for their kind assistance that allowed her to stay in her own place for so many years.
A special thank you to Dr. Aakash Modi for his kind and thoughtful care and to the paramedics, doctors, nurses and staff at Credit Valley Hospital for their assistance and compassion in Mary's last few weeks.
Memorial donations may be made to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
