Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary D’Andrea, at the age of 88 in Etobicoke, Ontario on March 30 2026. Born in Casalvieri, Italy on May 11, 1937 to parents Salvatore Lucchese and Restituta Rocca, Mary immigrated to Canada with her family as a young girl after WW11. Mary settled in Toronto and went on to build a wonderful life together with her husband, the late Marilio D’Andrea, with whom she raised their three children, Larry, Patrick and Laurie.

Mary will be eternally remembered for her kindness, humour, unwavering dedication to her family and friends and of course for her beauty both inside and out. She possessed a strength and presence that was inspiring and one of a kind. She truly shined like no other. Mary is lovingly remembered by her children Larry (Stephanie), Patrick (Karen) and Laurie, her grandchildren Matthew (Lana), Giacomo, Luca, Melissa and Jessica (Ron), and her great-grandchildren Christina, Clark and Laura. Beloved sister of Neda Ballarin (the late Joe) and the late Ida Rocca (the late Onorio), the late Ubaldo Lucchese (the late Theresa) and the late Elda Rocca (the late Bruno), Mary will forever be in their hearts.

La Famiglia was everything to Mary, and over the years everyone whose heart she touched can attest to her love and commitment for all of the people in her life, family and friends alike. She is lovingly remembered by many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and friends here in Canada as well in Italy, France and the United States who were all always near and dear to Mary’s heart.

Mary was a true “girl’s girl” and had many close girlfriends over the years with whom she had lots of laughs and adventures. She is survived by her bestie of over 60 years, Marion Crewe.

Baci.
