Died peacefully on June 6, 2012 in her home at Churchill Place, Oakville, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Macdonald who predeceased her in 2007. Mary Gordon had a long and full life that took her from her birthplace in London, Ontario, to Montreal and Hudson, Quebec, and finally to Oakville.
Full of life and vivacious to the end, Mary Gordon was a sparkling mother and granny; life will be less bright without her. Sister to her late brothers, Reilly, Tom and Jack Wilson, Mary Gordon is survived by her son, Pierre LaForest (Barbara), and grandchildren, Rob (James), Michèle (Byron Kelly and great grandchildren, Devon, Siena and Hudson), Daniel and Mary Catherine LaForest; also grandmother to the late David LaForest. Mary Gordon is survived by stepson Peter Macdonald (Helga) as well and by his son Alexander Macdonald (Meaghan, and their son Johnny). Our deepest thanks to the staff at Churchill Place residence and to all who cared for her as she weakened over the past several months. Special thanks also to Ray Bosley, a true and caring friend.
Visitation will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905-844-3221) on Sunday, June 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 11, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
