Mary Christina MacKeigan

Our lives changed forever with the sudden passing of Christina the morning of May 28, 2020.

Born in Glace Bay, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Gouthro; predeceased by brother, Kevin. Loved always and forever by her husband, John; son, John Jr. and wife, Tiffany; daughter, Karen and partner, Shannon.

Christina will always be cherished by her siblings and spouses: Melvin and Jocelyn; Deborah and Jim; Linda and Patrick; Lisa; Denise and Robert. In addition to her immediate family, she will be fondly remembered by her in-laws: Mary; Jacqueline; Paulette; Mildred and Arnold; Bernice; Joan and Robert; Michael and Mary Jo; Kathryn and Gordon; along with many nieces and nephews, and her grandpup Tobie Lynn.

Christina was the most selfless person and this was evident in her choice of life’s work as a caregiver and homemaker. She was full of life and genuinely lived for her family. Incredibly overjoyed, she looked forward to the birth of her first grandchild. Some of her fondest memories were spent with her best friends, Bob and Isabell. Christina enjoyed attending concerts, bingo, weekend getaways, bowling as well as supporting her children, and shopping at Giant Tiger. She also looked forward to the long road trips to visit family in Cape Breton, N.S.
