Marilyn Marshall

December 3, 1940 — January 18, 2025

Marilyn Marshall

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday January 18, 2025. Proud and loving mother of Mitzie, Triesha and Alwin and cherished grandmother to 2 beautiful granddaughters. She will be sadly missed by siblings Lorna, Carl, Avis, Berlet, Novlette and Orville. She will be fondly remembered by her dear nieces, nephews and her many family and friends.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, and siblings, Clove and Rose.

Born in Clarendon, Jamaica to parents Aaron and Adelaide, she was very proud of her Jamaican roots. She will be remembered for her creative and nurturing spirit. Growing up on a farm, Marilyn learned how to nourish the earth to grow vegetables and flowers. These skills were put to use throughout her life.

Marilyn followed in both her mother’s and father’s footsteps by choosing to be an educator. Her curiosity would lead her on a path to research many topics her whole life long. She delighted in creating new teaching materials to broaden her students’ minds. Marilyn’s positive outlook was both enlightening and encouraging to her students and their families. Due to her loving attention, many have flourished in their lives.

Family was so important to Marilyn, she took great pride in all her children and grandchildren. Nothing would bring a smile to her face as the one that would appear when she had her loving family around her table. She loved being in her kitchen, creating new dishes from scratch.

She enjoyed the arts greatly. Marilyn expressed her creativity through oil paintings and photography. Many of these paintings and photographs could be found around her home.

Marilyn had an adventurous side, from making her way to Canada at a young age to a missionary trip to Barbados and touring the biblical lands. Family road trips were one of her most cherished memories.

Marilyn’s passion for life and unshakable faith in God were an inspiration to all she met as well as her family who will continue to honour her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

 “Forever loved, always remembered.”
