Marianne Gilbert

November 16, 1953 - August 5, 2025

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Marianne Gilbert, loving Daughter, Mother, Aunt, and Nonna.

Marianne arrived in Canada in the Winter of 1968 with her family from the small town of Ceccano, Italy. With her passion for learning, Marianne earned her Bachelors of Arts from York University and her Masters of Art of Philosophy from the University of Toronto. Marianne was an Italian professor at both universities. She later earned her Bachelors of Education, which launched her 20 year teaching career at St. Robert’s Catholic School, later advancing to the role of Vice-Principal in the Toronto Catholic District School Board. After retirement in 2015, she was an active member of the Weston Community participating and instructing at the Weston Senior Village Community Centre. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Marianne is predeceased by Henry (2015), her husband of 40 years. She leaves behind her mother, Domenica; her children: Alex, Patricia (Sebastian), William (Marnie), her grandchildren, her nephews Stefano and Davide, and their families, and her companion Brent and his family.
