RUFFOLO, Maria Grazia —With great sadness we announce the passing of Maria Grazia on November 27, 2012 after a long battle with kidney disease. Born on July 2, 1927 in Rende, Calabria, Italy, Maria Grazia is now reunited with the love of her life, the late Umberto Ruffolo. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her cherished son, Mario and his wife, Rita DeMontis. Maria Grazia will forever be remembered for her sweet smile and nimble fingers whenever she was creating yet another designer item at one of her many sewing machines. Everyone in the family knew if trousers needed mending, or a dress altered, Maria Grazia was quick to whip out her needle and thread, just like one of Cinderella's fairies.
She will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends in Canada, the U.S., Italy and Argentina. Friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home on 2035 Weston Rd., (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston, on Sunday, December 2 from 5-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Clare's Church, 133 Westmount Ave., Toronto, on Monday, December 3rd at 10 a.m . Entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the outstanding care and compassion Maria Grazia received from the incredible nurses and doctors during her stay at Humber RiverRegional Hospital, Church St. location, in particular Dr. Poli Lekas, social workers Jeanette and Elisa and staff in both the nephrology department and the 6th Floor.
