Maria De Deus Balanca Martins was not only an amazing wife, but an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dear friend. To those that knew her or had the chance to meet her, would know that she always put others before herself. She was the loving wife of Manuel Martins for 50 years, Mother of Delia and Fernando Martins, mother-on-law to Stella Martins, and John Amaral, a devoted grandmother to Shaun and Jordan Do Rego, loving sister to Elise, Ilda, Noemia, Maria, Thomas, Denis, Manuel, and Ernest. Life will never be the same without her in our lives. She raised several children throughout her life including her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighbours which all became close family friends. She had passed away on Christmas Eve, not because she wanted to, but because Jesus wanted another angel by his side on that special day. She was a rock for the family and kept us strong as we faced the challenges of life. She will be forever in our hearts and we will carry on her traditions and hold our memories close and dear to our hearts as she guides us from above. Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (52 Main Street South, Brampton) on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, 8530 Chinguacousy Road, Brampton.
