Margaret "Rita" Duckitt

DUCKITT, Margaret (Rita) (nee Weir) - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga after a long illness. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Rita was the beloved wife of William Duckitt and loving mother of Barbara Duckitt (Stephen Coughlin) and Lesley Martel (Darren Martel). Doting grandmother of Ethan and Ewan Martel and Adam and Liam Coughlin. Dear sister of Terry Weir, Helen Masson and Jean Swift and sister-in-law of Colin Masson. Will be missed by niece Laura Swift and nephews Paul Masson, Colin Masson and Neil Masson, and all of her many friends. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Ward Funeral Homes, Brampton Chapel, at 52 Main Street South, Brampton, Ontario from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 44 Church Street East, Brampton, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Right to Play International, a global organization that uses the transformative power of playing sports and playing games to educate and empower children facing adversity, or to the Alzheimer Society. Profound appreciation of the extraordinary and compassionate care provided by Dr. Mark Unger and the nursing staff in the Emergency Unit and General Medicine Ward 2C at Credit Valley Hospital.
