McGILL, Margaret Alyce (nee Boyd)
Peacefully in Toronto on February 4th, 2012 in her 88th year; predeceased by her much-loved husband of 59 years, Samuel William (Bill) (2005); loving mother to David (Alaine), Jamie (Karen) and Patti (Brian Smith); dear grandmother to Emily, Anne, Christy, Jamie, Laura, Janet, John, Madison and Alex; proud great-grandmother of eight great-grandchildren; lovingly remembered by her sisters Mildred (Norman), Orma (Don) and predeceased by her sister Barbara Joan. She was predeceased by her parents Winnifred and Orville Boyd. She will be fondly remembered by all her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Margaret lived a full life devoted to her family and others. Her thoughts and concerns always seemed be for the well-being of others. Margaret loved traveling with Bill, especially to Barbados where they became "official" citizens. They had a great many friends across the globe and visited many countries. She had a life-long interest in sewing and textile arts and was perhaps most at peace when tending her flower garden. Later in life Margaret gave considerable time and effort into researching and documenting her family tree. She was proud of her family and their many and varied achievements though the years.
On Margaret’s behalf, the family would like to express their most sincere thanks to the many staff members at both the Humber River Regional Hospital Dialysis Clinic, as well as at the Village of Humber Heights for their many years of exceptional care and support.
The family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Weston (416-241-4618) on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012 from 6pm-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Humbervale United Church, 1447 Royal York Road, Etobicoke on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 at 1pm.
