Margaret Downey

DOWNEY, Margaret - Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, April 21, 2011. Predeceased by her husband Tom. Survived by her children Marilyn Connery (Jim), Beverley Barker (Don), Karen Sparkes (Les), Glenn (Diane), and Leslee Armstrong (Nick). Nana to thirteen grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Margaret was devoted to her church St. Andrew's Humber Heights and served as a longtime choir member. She worked as a Secretary for the Etobicoke Board of Education until her retirement in 1989. A special thanks to the nursing staff of Village of Sandalwood Park in Brampton. Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charitable organization of your choice.
