Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday June 1, 2024 at the age of 89. Devoted husband of Marcella for 66 wonderful years. Proud father of Claudia (Neil) and Luisa (Michael). Cherished Nonno of Sara (Jeffrey), Daniel (Judye), John Michael (Olivia) and Annalisa (Austin). Marcello will be sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and his many family and friends.

Born to parents Giovanni and Iolanda in the small village of Scifelli, Frosinone Italy. This village was also home to Marcella Martellacci a beautiful young woman that was drawn to Marcello through their similar family and religious values.

In 1953 Marcello made his way over to Canada to put down roots for himself and his bride to be. In 1959 Marcella and their daughter Claudia joined Marcello here and together they worked hard to build a life for their young family.

Marcello was a humble man who would always put his family first. His grandchildren were the center of his universe. They were his first and last thought of each and every day.

Marcello was a man who found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly through his love of gardening, in particular his tomato plants.  But Marcello's talents didn't end in the garden. He was also a skilled carpenter, known for his meticulous craftsmanship and the beautiful pieces he created.  Each piece was a labor of love, reflecting Marcello's dedication, patience, and eye for detail.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Hospice Vaughan would be appreciated.
