Manuel Mariano

Manuel, the third child of four, was born in Gafanha da Encarnação, Portugal, and at the young age of 19 immigrated to Canada to start a new life. He embraced his new country and became a proud Canadian. He met Marilia Ferraz who would become his wife of 52 years. Manuel worked in various trades throughout Ontario but was soon able to pursue his passion as a welder with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 128 where he continued to work until his health forced him to retire in 1999. Although Manuel made many friends over the years, Manuel was a dedicated and loving family man and a proud father of 3 children; Marlene (Peter), Gary (Alicia) and Joshua and a loving grandfather to 4 grandchildren; Rebecca, Matthew, Benjamin and Landon. Manuel will be fondly remembered for his genuine love of life, gentle nature and generosity. He leaves behind an everlasting legacy and will be missed by all those that knew him.
