It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Manuel Castro on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the age of 82, lovingly surrounded by his family. Beloved husband to Dolores for 56 years of marriage, loving father of Maria (Rudi) Castro/Covre, and Robert (Karey) Castro, and cherished by his grandchildren Cristina, Matthew, Michael, Stephanie, and Christopher. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Manuel was a hardworking and dedicated family man. He met the love of his life in Pontevedra, Spain and together they build a life in Canada for themselves, their family, and is proudly the patriarch of many Galician family and friends.
Visitation will take place at at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway #7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 9:30 am at St. Peter's Church (100 Bainbridge Avenue). In lieu of flowers, donations are respectfully appreciated in his memory to Hospice Vaughan (www.hospicevaughan.com).
