Makedona Georgia

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georgia Mourikis Makedona, who left us peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on April 20, 1940, in a small village in Greece, Georgia immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s. She faced the challenges of a new country while living with a lifelong heart condition, yet built a life marked by courage, resilience, and an unwavering work ethic. Her strength and selflessness shaped not only her own life but also the lives of those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons Chris (Eleni) and Stratis, and her cherished granddaughters Georgia and Anastasia.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Cummer Lodge Long-Term Care Home for their compassion and dedication.

Georgia’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and perseverance will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

May her memory be eternal.
