Lynette Idris Daley Miller, a dedicated social worker and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on August 21, 1946, she leaves behind a profound legacy of service, wisdom, and deep love for her family.
The cherished daughter of Robert and Sarah Daley, Lynette grew up surrounded by a vibrant, loving family. She graduated from The High School for Girls in Montreal, Quebec. Driven by a deep desire to help others, she moved forward to study Social Services at George Brown College, where she graduated with her College Diploma in Social Services. This foundational education launched an extraordinary career; Lynette worked tirelessly as a Social Service Worker for 50 years. After five decades of unwavering dedication to her community, she retired from Opportunity for Advancement (OFA) in 2024.
Throughout her life, Lynette was known for her generous spirit and found great joy in motivational quotes, music, writing, and simply living life to the fullest.
Lynette rekindled a friendship with a friend from the past, Renford George Miller and the couple ending up falling in love and getting married on August 24, 2002, in Montreal, Quebec. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in partnership and mutual devotion.
Lynette’s greatest pride was her family. Her legacy lives on through her devoted children: daughters Mica Whalen, Vershone Daley, and Anika Beech, and her son, Lasana Beech and her honorary son and daughter Arlington Talbot and Olivene Dyer. She was a cherished grandmother to Ife Herd, Kenda Herd, Pasha Herd, and Micaiah Herd. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Brenda Daley, Rosmond Daley, Thomas Daley, and Tracey Daley, alongside many cousins and extended family members who will miss her dearly. Lynette was reunited in peace with her dear brothers who passed before her, Basil Daley and Richard Daley.
