In Loving Memory of Luis Soares Pacheco
February 15, 1928 – October 24, 2025
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Luis Soares Pacheco, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood, Ontario, at the age of 97.
Born in São Miguel, Açores, Luis lived a full life filled with love, creativity, and joy. Back home, he was a proud business owner, running his own body shop and earning a reputation as a gifted painter. His passion for the arts was evident in everything he did—from painting portraits to playing music. He often said, “I am an Artist of the Fine Arts,” a title he wore with pride.
Luis had a deep love for Fado music, especially the legendary Amália Rodrigues. He enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica whenever the opportunity arose. If someone brought out a guitar, Luis would pull out his harmonica, ready to fill the room with music and joy. He loved a good party, surrounded by his cherished family, delicious food, wine and laughter.
Luis was devoted to his beautiful wife, Maria Isaura Pacheco, with whom he would have celebrated 74 years of marriage on November 3rd. Together, they built a loving family that includes eight children: Carlos, Luisa, Luis, Fatima, Fernando, Catarina, Lidia, and Monica; sons- and daughters-in-law: Lucia, Natal, Alcida, Hugo, Irene, Luis, Geoff, and Victor; 15 grandchildren: Luis Filipe, Alan, Selma, Tanya, Julio, Victor, Natasha, Bianca, Nicole, Ruben, Lucas, Alexandra, Savanah, Liam, and Ethan; and three great-grandchildren: Noah, Ayden, and Iliana.
Luis will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his artistic soul, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the music he played amongst family and friends, the art he created, and the love he gave so freely.
