Luciana (Lucy) Tenuta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luciana “Lucy” Tenuta on October 7, 2026, at the age of 75.

Lucy was born on September 5, 1951, in San Demetrio ne’ Vestini, Abruzzo, Italy. She came to Canada as a young child with her mother and siblings, joining her father who had immigrated ahead of them. Her mother’s courage and determination would become qualities Lucy carried throughout her own life.

In July 1976, Lucy married Antonio “Tony” Tenuta. They shared nearly 49 years of marriage before his passing in May 2025.

Lucy was the beloved mother of Christina, David and Emma. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Robert and his family, the family of her late sister Ersilia, her brother-in-law Francesco and his family, as well as her extended family and many dear friends.

For nearly two decades, Lucy faced cancer with remarkable courage and determination.

She loved travelling, spending time with family and friends, and baking cakes, cookies and other treats to share.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to the Sunnybrook Foundation in support of the Complex Malignant Hematology Clinic.
