Louise Carmel Puma (nee DeSantis)
July 16, 1918 (Toronto) - June 28, 2011 (Brampton)
It is with heavy hearts that Linda Hassan, Paul (Donna) and Dominic (Pat) Puma, announce the passing of their loving mother Louise, on June 28th, 2011, just eighteen days short of her 93rd birthday. A woman of considerable substance, Louise died with dignity and courage, after battling cancer these past few years. She maintained her courage and dignity to the very end.
In addition to her children, Louise is survived by her sisters Rose Miller and Andrea Pillo, grandchildren, Dana, Danny, Leah, Kelly, Chrissy and Melanie, all of whom spent quality time with her before her passing, as well as twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Louise was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Filomena DeSantis, husband Fred Puma, brothers, Peter, Freddie, Paul and sister Ann Marie (Nan) Grittani.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 52 Main St S. (Hwy#10) Brampton from 5pm to 9pm on Friday July 1st 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday July 2nd 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 66A Main St. S. Brampton, Fr. Liborio Amaral celebrating. Burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The Puma family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the palliative care nurses and doctors and all who visited, telephoned and prayed for Louise during her final days. To Mom's special caregiver and friend Ester, we are forever grateful.
