The Rice family is heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Lois Wilma Rice (nee Ewart) on May 8th, 2024 at the age of 98.  Lois was born December 18th, 1925, in Bolton, Ontario to the late Edward and Della Ewart.  Sister to late Erwin and wife of the late Maxwell Rice, Lois leaves behind three sons; Roderick and his wife Sandra, David and his wife Martiza and Jeffrey. She was cherished by seven grandchildren; Heather (Lyndon), Laura (Jason), Eric, Carly, Lindsay, Camilla (Travis), and Samantha (Sam).  She has nine great grandchildren who adore her; Estelle, Mabel, Walter, Scarlette, Leo, Eleanor, Lily, Wesley, and Kate.

The moment you met her - you knew Lois was special.  She was an active community member in Brampton she sat on many boards, was a hospital donor, volunteered for the Salvation Army, participated in elections, was a terrific fundraiser, a loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend to so many.  Lois had a way of making every single person she met, feel like they were important.   She dedicated her life to helping others and influenced so many.  Her humble nature, gracious demeanour and absolute readiness for anything, made her someone everyone wanted to be with.  She lived life fully with so much laughter and love and a fuller social calendar than anyone else. We are all so blessed to have had the privilege of knowing and loving her and are honoured to be able to have shared in her 98 years of being the life of the party!
