SECKINGTON, Lloyd Albert -
Passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Eatonville Care Centre, close to his three daughters. He was the best father and grandfather ever.
Loving husband of Betty Beryl Seckington (nee Blower) for over sixty-three glorious years at the time of her passing, December 26, 2010. Much loved and sadly missed by his three daughters: Cathy Traicus, Ruth Malecki (Rick), Patti Bunston (Doug). Beloved “Grampy” to his ten grandchildren: Carla Malecki (Richard Barton), Jamie Malecki, Catherine Vallieres (Jon), Anthony Malecki, Carolyn Kormendi (Alex), Rob Bunston, Laura Kovce (Rob), Victor Traicus (Diana), Steve Bunston and Tom Bunston. Grampy was thrilled to have six great-grandchildren: Sofia Vallieres, Benjamin Vallieres, Grace Kormendi, Nathan Barton, Oliver Vallieres and Matthew Kormendi. He rejoiced in knowing another one is on the way. Lloyd was the youngest in his family, born over 90 years ago to parents Beatrice Annie Seckington (nee Marshall) and James Seckington. Lloyd and his twin brother Harold were the first twins born in Mount Dennis. Dear brother of four much loved siblings who predeceased him: Jim (Jean), Bernice (Jack Welch), Bill, and Harold (Eva). Left to mourn by his dear sister-in-law Mary Seckington, Bill's wife. Fondly remembered by two of Betty's sisters, Aileen Longmore (Fred) and Dorothy Jermey (Tim). Predeceased by Betty's youngest sister Kay McCreary (Carm). "Uncle Lloyd" was a gentle soul and will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Retiring over 30 years ago after a 41 year career at Kodak Canada, Lloyd and Betty enjoyed many happy years together in their Wymbolwood Beach home on Georgian Bay and winters in North Fort Myers, Florida. Sincere thanks to so many for assistance over the years, including Jennifer & Tony D’Angelo, David & Linda Jermey, Pam & Jim Seckington, Joanne Pickard, and the wonderful staff at Etobicoke Services for Seniors and Eatonville Care Centre. Much appreciation from our family. Visitation to be held at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Weston on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11 am. Cremation will take place before services. In lieu of flowers, donations to Etobicoke Services for Seniors, Canadian Cancer Society, or Autism Ontario would be much appreciated.
