It is with great sadness that the family of Liza Baliseh announces her peaceful passing at Brampton Civic Hospital surrounded by her family, on November 18, 2023. Liza was born in Cairo Egypt, on June 1, 1939, to parents George & Rose Gabriel.

Predeceased by her loving husband Jalil. Beloved mother of Sherina & Ossama (Elaine). Cherished grandmother of Jalil, Nicolas & Hannah. Dear sister of Marie, Aida, Bouchra, Marcel, Nadia, Dalal, Samira & Youssef in both Toronto & Montreal. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces & nephews.

Liza & Jalil married in the Middle East in 1963, and soon after they welcomed their first-born Sherina. The young family moved to Canada in pursuit of new opportunities, it was here that they welcomed their second child Ossama. Liza began her lifelong career with US Air in the accounting department.

Liza will be remembered for the love of her family, her Arabic cooking, her famous Teta's cookies and being greeted by her sparkling eyes whenever you walked in the room. Her laugh was so pure, she was a true lady with a loving and giving nature.

Liza was a woman of strong faith which gave her the strength to walk her journey. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. George Antiochian Church (9116 Bayview Ave (389 Centennial Drive, Caledon).

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
