The McGuire family wants to announce the passing of Lawrence Kenneth McGuire, son of the late Douglas McGuire and the late Gladys McGuire (later McLean). Lawrence will be missed by his son Geoffrey McGuire (Allison Mills) and daughter Erin McGuire (Jason Dodge); sisters Joan Booth and Rosemary McGuire; nieces Laura and Leslie Booth; and grandsons Ewan Mills‑McGuire, Patrick Mills‑McGuire and Cameron Tyrrell. He will be remembered by many cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Ward Funeral Home (Weston Chapel), 2035 Weston Road, on Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. (visitation at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a reception.

Lawrence enjoyed most sports, but his passion was ball hockey. He proudly carried the title of “The Commissioner” and cherished the many longtime friendships that came with it. Mourners are invited to honour Lawrence by wearing toques and hockey sweaters to the service.
