Kenneth Slate

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ken. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Meadows) for 48 years. Loving father of Kelly (Greg). Cherished grandfather of twins Lauren and Brooke. Fondly remembered by his sister Marion, mother in law Helen, and sister in law Betty (Don), family and friends. Predeceased by his sister Deanna.

Ken was a faithful, active member of Fairbank United Church, singing in the choir for over 60 years, serving on many committees, a leader in his faith community. Retired after 35 years of teaching at Fairbank Memorial Public School in the former City of York, leading choirs and coaching sports teams.
Ken will be remembered for his great organizational skills, his leadership and his kindness to all those who were privileged to be part of his life. He will be missed.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.

A service will be held in the chapel on Thursday June 11, 2015 at 11am.
Interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
