Julie Kristin East

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Julie.

Even in childhood Julie showed such great promise. She was a gifted athlete and award winning figure skater. She excelled at everything she attempted. This talent and drive motivated her to pursue a career as a legal secretary at the prestigious law firms of Minden Gross (11 years) and Goodman Carr.

On a personal note, she had a passion for fashion and animals (Wyllow was her beloved pet for 16 years). She had a generosity of spirit, always reaching out to help the underprivileged of society.

During the last half of Julie's life she battled a debilitating bipolar disorder, which led to a series of depression and complicated medical issues. She bravely faced countless treatments and therapies over the years.

Julie's last two years was challenging beyond measure. She developed a severe blood clot which led to the amputation of her right leg. The same blood clot ended up taking her life at the age of 55.

Julie's courage and bravery is the gift she gave us.

Julie is predeceased by her father (Eldon East), grandmother (Pearl O'Neill), grandfather (Jack O'Neill), grandmother (Margaret East), grandfather (Eldon East Sr.) and uncle (Richard O'Neill "Rick").

Julie is survived by her mother (Maureen O'Neill) and sister (Stephanie East), aunt (Sharon Cox), uncle (Calvin Cox), cousins (Joel Cox, Joshua Cox, Jody Cox, Jordan Cox, Randy Zapatoka and Pamela Amero).

Julie loved all things celestial. With that in mind, "Julie, you are our North, South, East and West Star".
