Judith Hyde

JUDITH LORRAINE HYDE (nee GARDHOUSE) Passed away peacefully in her home in Etobicoke (Toronto), ON, in the early hours of July 5, 2014 at the young age of 72 after a long battle with cancer, in the company of her loving husband Peter. Judy leaves her husband Peter, sisters Joyce, Shirley and Gwen and brother Wayne. She was beloved by her nieces, nephews and extended family. Judy was an avid gardener and enjoyed travelling with Peter. They were intrigued by countries and cultures and visited many places throughout the world. Judy was also an active volunteer, her passion being the Ebenezer Toronto Gore Historical Society, for which she served as President and Treasurer. She also served on the Board of Directors for Sharon Cemetery. Thanks go out to the outstanding medical team, including Dr. King, Dr. Quinton, Dr. Hill, Dr. Pattell and the wonderful support team, including ParaMed, VON and the many people who provided the comfort and care that enabled her to remain in her home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice; Trillium Health Centre Oncology Unit - Queensway site; or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Toronto, 416-241-4618, on Thursday, July 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private funeral and cremation will take place. The family will be holding a celebration of her life at the Lambton Golf & Country Club, 100 Scarlett Road, Toronto, 416-767-2175, on Monday, July 14th from 4-7 p.m. All who wish to attend are most welcome.
