Jude McGibney, 21 years old, died suddenly by suicide on the morning of Wednesday July 29th at the Leaside Bridge in Toronto.Jude was a brilliant Electromechanical Engineering Technology Student at Humber College and a certified graduate, with honors, of Liuna 506 Hazardous Materials / Asbestos Abatement Worker program.Jude had overcome and thrived beyond many obstacles in their life, and was a beautiful, intelligent, kind and compassionate human to all who knew them. Jude is survived by their loving older brother Gabriel, their mom Heather, many extended family and friends who are deeply feeling the pain and tragedy of their untimely death. Jude also leaves behind beloved animal companions who were a source of comfort to Jude in difficult times, as well.As a child, Jude was an Enterprise Navy League Cadet and as a young teen, became an Air Cadet with the 188 Cobra Squadron.Jude loved gaming, watching Rick and Morty and other anime, TV shows, movies and YouTube. Jude enjoyed studying history (especially military), fishing and practising driving with their new G1 Driver’s License. Jude had quietly embarked on gender affirming hormone therapy and was considering changing their name to Moth.Jude will be forever deeply loved and terribly missed and remembered by all who knew them.Mental health is an increasingly prevalent issue in our society. A Celebration of Life Service to honour Jude's memory will be held at a later date. Details will be announced once they become available.
