In Loving Memory of Ms. Joyce Caseta Griffiths

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ms. Joyce Caseta Griffiths, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, caregiver, and friend. Joyce was born in Jamaica, the fourth of seven daughters to Ms. Gina Rose. She moved to Canada in her early 20s, briefly lived in the U.S., and remained deeply connected to her Jamaican roots.

Joyce was a devoted mother to Charmaine and Jason, cherished grandmother to Monique, Jonathan, Lamar, Shondel, and Jahaziah, and great-grandmother to Harlem, Harmony, Bryston, Titan, and Kassidy. She was known for her deep kindness, wisdom, generosity, and her unmistakable sense of style.

To her family, she was “Ma,” “Grandma,” or “Auntie" "Joy”—a true matriarch who lived with purpose, courage, and grace. She gave freely without expecting anything in return, taught the importance of integrity, and left a lasting impact on everyone she touched. From heartfelt acts of generosity to fun-filled Friday night hangouts, her spirit brought people together and left unforgettable memories.

Joyce’s legacy lives on through the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the lives she influenced. She was, and always will be, our superwoman.

Rest in peace, Joy. You will forever be in our hearts.
