Joy Brice

Peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Joy was in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack (1998). Cherished mother of Susan Bailey (Sandy), Terri Brice (Peter Young), Kym Baines (late Peter), and Jill Brice (Ken Keleher). Sadly missed by grandchildren Madelaine and Jason.

Joy, Jack and their 2 daughters emigrated from Wales to Edmonton in 1954. Here a family of 4 was increased by 2 more daughters. She stayed home to raise her daughters, greeting them home from school each day with fresh baked goodies.

In 1965, the Brice family moved to Oakville. As the daughters moved on , Joy returned to school to learn computers. She then worked at Sherdian College at the Registrars Office. she retired from there in 1991. The fun continued with travel all over the world.

Throughout her life, Joy was truly "joy to the world" with her quick wit and sense of humour. Family and friends around the world will miss her.

The family will receive friends at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905-844-3221) on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. for a time of fellowship and celebration of Joy's life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital or Charity of choice, would be appreciated.
