It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jose Adriano Amaral Lourenco in Sao Jorge, The Azores at the age of 69. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Ludovino and Natalia Lourenco. Survived by his cherished life Partner, Jeffrey German of Paris, Ontario. Sadly missed by Brother Jaime of Sao Miguel, The Azores, Sisters Grace (Bras) DaSilva, Natalie (the late Paul) Sousa and Leonor (Joe) Martins all of Brampton, Ontario. Son Mark. Adored “Mom” Beverley German and “Dad” the late George German of Paris, Ontario. Joe was also fortunate to have an adopted family in Taunton, Massachusetts, Antonio and Valquira DaSilva, Guida Leal and the late Jamie and Isabel Leal. Joe will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends, especially in the Fall River Massachusetts area.
Born in Terceira, The Azores on October 4, 1956, Joe immigrated to Canada in 1967, settling in Brampton Ontario. In the early years Joe was a successful Banker and Real Estate Agent with Remax Brampton. It was in 1994 he met his partner Jeff. For almost 32 years Joe and Jeff travelled the world and built a beautiful, unique life together.
Joe’s work took him to Fall River, Massachusetts and was a devotee to the Infant Jesus of Prague.
To know Joe was to love Joe. There was no one else like him. He would light up a room, not only by his charming personality, playful charisma, but most of all his beautiful smile. We, his family and friends, will miss him very much.
