John Varao

We are saddened by the sudden passing of our beloved father, John Varao.

Wonderful, loving father of Matthew (Megan) and Emily (Eduardo), brother of Alda and Carlos, and son of the late Maria and Carlos Varao.

John was a dedicated father who coached his children in soccer and hockey and would never miss a game or dance recital. He was a generous and loyal friend, who would always have a smile on his face and be the first to make a silly joke that would give you a good laugh.

In his own words, John was “a jack of all trades, but a master of none”. Regardless, he was always great at working with his hands, finding creative ways to renovate our home, or craft masterful works from a few simple pieces of wood.

He was an avid sports fan of the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, Cleveland Browns and more recently, the Owen Sound Attack.

He was a classic rock music lover, with an impressive collection of records, having witnessed many epic concerts from Phil Collins and Genesis, to Pink Floyd, Kiss and Queen and he has a collection of ticket stubs to show it.

We will all miss him dearly and he will forever be in our hearts.
