John Stoddard

STODDARD, John “Jack” William

Peacefully on August 7th, 2012 and with no pain, passed away in Brampton, Ontario. Jack was the first born son to John and Glady’s Stoddard in Brampton on November 30, 1931. Jack, along with his wife Georgina ( who passed away September 30, 2010) worked hard and made a very good life for themselves. Always a team, they have left behind lasting memories for proud son Wayne William Stoddard, daughter-in-law Janet Lynn Stoddard, and grandson’s Aaron John Stoddard, and Ryan William Stoddard.

Jack was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Fiddler, Oil Painter, Fly Fisherman and Toolmaker. As a toolmaker, he was one of the thousands of men that lost their jobs when the Avro Aero project was cancelled in 1958. Just with a new house at the time on 77 Norton Crescent in Georgetown, pride was pushed aside and delivering newspapers paid some bills. That’s the kind of man he was. No handouts, no pity, just do what you have to do to provide. He enjoyed a long career as a toolmaker until his retirement. Private internment will take place at the family plot in Brampton Cemetery.

Dad, you will live through us each and every day. We love you.
