After an incredibly brave and inspiring fight against cancer, John, at the age of 54, died at home on March 28, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was an adoring husband to the love of his life, Patti, for 34 years, and the coolest Dad ever to his three amazing sons, Jeff, Jake and Nick. Loving son of Ed and the late Shirley Skrypek, and big brother to Mike (Robin) and “Big” Dave (Darlene). Fun-loving brother-in-law to Debbie and Dan Roland, and Linda and Paul Ciniello.
John was a true renaissance man who “ruled” at everything he did. He had a plethora of hobbies including reading, paintballing, music, dirt biking, Call of Duty, motorcycling, sailing, golfing and hockey. Above all, he was a passionate family man who loved his family deeply and completely. John will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his faithful puka dog, Molly. We continue to be grateful and amazed at the generosity and support we have received and are continuing to receive from our family and friends.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100, on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated.
