John Raschke

Passed away on Thursday June 2, 2011 at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 79. Predeceased by his beloved wife Frances (2007). Loving father of Margaret Davie (Jeffrey) and Diana Maggisano (Frank). Cherished grandfather of Thomas, William, and Anthony John. Former manager at the Toronto Dominion Bank with 40 years of service. Founding member and Past President of the Canadian-Austrian Society of Toronto and Charter Member of the Austrian-Canadian Council. Recipient of the “Decoration of Merit in Gold” from the Republic of Austria in addition to his numerous awards in recognition for his promotion of Austrian culture in Canada. Long-time cottager and dedicated Member of the Six Mile Lake Cottagers Association. John will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family, many friends and associates.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Monday from 1 to 3pm and from 5-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 11:30am. Interment to follow at Sanctuary Park Cemetery.
